The global recession has hit our state hard. But Ohioans have faced the challenge of rebuilding our economy with resiliency, grit and determination.
Ohio’s history was written by men and women who valued risk-taking, entrepreneurship and innovation. Today’s Ohio is no different. We invented flight, and now we’re global leaders in aerospace engineering. We were cutting-edge glass manufacturers, and now we’re home to the nation’s largest solar panel manufacturer. We perfected the automobile tire, and now we’re first in plastics and rubber production employment.
And we are working every day to foster job creation and economic growth by bridging Ohio’s inventive past with our innovative future.
A cornerstone of our plan to create jobs and promote long-term economic growth is bringing business and education together to spur research that will promote high-tech manufacturing, innovative renewable energy, advances in health care, and broad-based agriculture. Our historic strength as a manufacturer and supplier is only strengthened by Ohio’s economic diversity.
